Un-becoming

A Small Group Wayfinding Experience

unbecoming

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.

The world, your parents, your community, your religion…

They have all taught you to be BE something that fits into a mold. To DO things that are “acceptable. “

You were trained to meet the “right” goals. Check the right boxes. Fulfill the cultural, religious, and community expectations.

I know you’ve heard the judgements: “That is conduct unbecoming of an officer [military]” (I’m a miltary brat, so that was a normal part of my growing up) or “That behavior is unbecoming of a lady [or gentleman].” or even “How dare s/he?“

Those external judgements and expectations really shape us.

They shape us into something we are NOT.

AND…

You know there are parts of you that you’ve ignored, squashed down, re-shaped, or abandoned in order to fit in, be acceptable, be seen as “successful, ” or even (especially) to be loved.

How do I know this? I’ve been on the journey, too. I’m a Certified Martha Beck Wayfinder Life Coach. I’ve been on the journey back to integrity in my own life, personally and professionally.

When we aren’t distracted by culture, we move directly toward fulfilling our innate longing. When we’re craving things we’ve been taught to want, we lose track of our inner motivations entirely, and may spend a lifetime pursuing rewards that never make us feel truly fulfilled.

~Martha Beck, The Way of Integrity

CULTURE says, “NO – don’t be that. Don’t do that. Don’t think that. Don’t act that way.”

But inside, you know there’s a “YES” just waiting to be acknowledged! There’s more to life than chasing other people’s expectations, checking the standard boxes for success, and ignoring your inner motivations.

It’s time to be BOLD

Un-becoming is a safe space to walk towards the TRUTH of who you are. You’ll find the courage to admit what you deeply desire. And once you do that, Un-becoming is the container in which you will begin to re-create your life (personally and professionally) around those truths.

Un-becoming is as simple as telling your truth (though don’t confuse simple with easy.)

Using Wayfinding Tools, you’ll learn where you’ve re-shaped yourself in ways that don’t FEEL like YOU at your core.

…that don’t SOUND like the real you.

And that don’t LOOK like the vision you see for yourself.

It’s time to start living life for YOU.

  1. Reveal what isn’t working (how you are at odds with yourself).
  2. Identify those tolerations and power leaks.
  3. Discover your Core of Peace and return there again and again.
  4. Re-discover what DELIGHTS you (your internal signals are GOLD).
  5. Honor your inner motivations (even if they are at odds with your “culture”).
  6. Practice honoring, trusting, and loving yourself.
  7. Let fall away what doesn’t serve you (a.k.a. Burn, baby, burn!).
  8. Begin forming THE NEW (You).

Details for Un-becoming

We’ll gather for eight 90-minute sessions between January and April 2022.

SPACE IS LIMITED TO 10 PARTICIPANTS.

I’ll be opening up another in the fall!

I’ve done TWO Facebook Lives about Un-becoming. Here’s the shorter one.

Refund Policy

There are no refunds once you register.

Check in with yourself: is it a HELL YES? Great. You can register above using the blue buttons. Is it a maybe or a no? Then it’s a HELL NO. And that’s okay, too.

NOTE: Wayfinding and coaching are NOT therapy. If you have deep trauma that you have not addressed or are at the early stages of working through, please engage a qualified therapist. I’ll look forward to working with you in the future.
