Clients seem to find me via referral when they are really suffering internally. They confess to peer that stuff isn’t good. Their peer, who has often worked with me, says, “You need to talk to Angie.”
And here are some common things I hear:
–> “If I just had better time management system” (says my perfectionist client)
–> “If I was just more organized” (says my ADHD client)
–> “If I just understood how to manage better” (says my autistic client)
–> “If I just had a life outside of my business” (says my scared client)
–> “If my employees were just smarter” (says my whip smart, Type A, ultra driven client)
What do each and every one of these clients have in common? They are trying to solve an internal problem with an external solution.
Nearly all of my clients come to me with these traits (and I am NOT SHAMING THEM – I also suffered – and sometimes still do – from all these things, too):
· Intolerance of mistakes (in themselves and in others)
· Very judgmental (of themselves and others)
· Reluctant to tell the full truth of their unhappiness (to themselves, their partners, etc)
· Lacking true self care, self-appreciation, and self-love
Here’s what I know:
Time in Nature settles our insides down. But initially that quiet time might mess our insides up (Hello uncomfortableness!). This is okay. Give it time, learn to sit with the discomfort (it IS a practice), and keep going. You will settle down enough to go IN.
I walk people back home to themselves – to the parts they forgot they had, to the parts they shunned, damned or ignored. To the parts that feel unlovable. To the parts that feel abandoned. AND to the parts they love, cherish, and adore. ALL parts are welcome.
I take my clients on a journey of SELF. We walk together with patience, silence, nonjudgement, and care.
We walk in stillness and quiet with the vastness of nature. We take lessons from nature, like how the leaves fall, some wildly, some lazily, some vigorously, some straight down. We talk about how we could try to catch those leaves or direct their trajectory (Hello, Control!) …or how we deliberately choose to just watch them fall, come what may (Hello, Surrender).
After working with me, clients say:
–> “I am peaceful inside. Happy with ME.”
–> “I find hope in the future, knowing there are many new paths I can choose.”
–> “I am happy with my insides AND my outside.”
–> “I feel so settled. When I get unsettled, I have tools to re-settle myself.”
This is what powerful, insight, INSIDE work looks like. I’ve done it (still do it!) and I freaking LOVE watching my results and my clients results.
Down and in work = PEACE
Warmly,
Angie
