Husbands to wives and friends to friends who attended the Salmon River Slowdown a couple of weeks ago:
“I CANNOT believe you did that.”
Ladies in the trip: “HELL YES I DID BECAUSE I AM A BADASS.”
Getting out of your comfort zone…sometimes WAY WAY OUT OF IT…is the perfect way to see what you’re capable of. To see what you’re made of. To reconnect to who you are underneath all of the polite, social, comfortable trappings we are all swimming in every day.
And, it was tiring.
Why? Because we were (1) mostly all in different time zones than we were used to (2) outside 24 hours a day (3) for 6 whole days (4) schlepping big bags of gear (5) walking across sandy beaches constantly or (6) walking across rocky beaches with rocks of wildly varying sizes (7) doing emotional work during circle ( 8 ) in some smoky areas off and on from wildfires (9) setting up and taking down tents and sleeping on the ground every single day and finally (10) most traveling via plane to and from Montana.
You bet we were tired.
Was it worth it?
HELL YES IT WAS!!!
Warmly,
Angie
