A successful entrepreneur looked me in the eye and said: “I have everything I thought I wanted. So why do I feel so empty?”
Burnout is a real thing. And it happens when you’re fundamentally disconnected from what actually matters to you.
When you’re running on fumes, you lose access to the things that make leadership meaningful:
- Creative thinking
- Clear judgment
- Emotional presence
- Innovative problem-solving
You’re less productive, less yourself, and less enthusiastic about EVERYTHING.
The executives who work with me aren’t looking for more energy to do more things. They want to do LESS, actually. But/and they are also looking for meaning again, why they started building this business in the first place. Where DID that excitement, drive, and verve go?
It’s squashed flat under obligations, exhaustion, repetition, and the daily grind.
Reconnection doesn’t come from pushing harder. Maybe let’s try slowing down instead?
Warmly,
Angie
