There’s a guy I love named Chris Guillebeau (don’t tell my boyfriend) and he’s all about inspired action.
He writes a fabulous blog called The Art of Non-Conformity and he’s made it his life’s goal to visit every single country in the world (and he’s nearly 80 percent there).
Over the weekend, he hosted the second annual World Domination Summit. It’s 1,000 people celebrating how we can each create our lives as exactly as we want them – no matter how odd, unusual,or not-mainstream it might seem “to
everyone else.”
One of the attendees, Farnoosh Brock, did a great job summing up what the people who attended the World Domination Summit can do whith all their inspiration, great ideas, and motivation they got from listening to kick-ass speakers all week.
Here, in their entirety, are her “8 Ways to Take Inspired Action.” My comments are in brackets:
- You do it with laser-sharp focus
- You do it with self-discipline
- You do it with organization [yay!]
- You do with efficiency [‘cuz it rocks]
- You do with saying NO to what doesn’t serve toward your
goal [boundaries, anyone?] - You do it with building a daily habit [it’s still easier to
keep up than to catch up] - You do with a system that works for you, no matter how
weird or bizarre it may seem [one size does not fit all] - You do it with doing, with the unsexy, uncool, and yet
totally necesary act of doing
There’s only ONE thing I’d add to the list – you do all those things MORE successfully when you have an accountability partner.
I love Farnoosh’s summary because it so resonates with what I know you want. It speaks to your dreams and desires about having freedom, the ability to control your life (your destiny, even), or just to be able to go home and not stress about work.
You’re ready for freedom. You’re ready not to feel overwhelmed and stressed out all the time. And you’re ready to have someone in your corner, who cares about your business, your wants, and your dreams.
Sincerely,
Angie
P.S. Have I shared my own “inspired action” life goal with you? I definitely want to continue working with solopreneurs, micropreneurs, and small business owners to help them organize and systematize their businesses for growth and success. I really believe that being in business doesn’t have to equal burn out, stress, and exhaustion.
I also know that I want people to follow their dreams and do what they love -in business and in life.
Now, in my life, I want to live in the mountains in a yurt or small log cabin that is totally off the grid (self-powered by solar and wind, etc.). Lots of vegetables growing in the backyard, chickens scratching around, and plenty of weekends exploring nature near and far.
Do those two dreams – the business and my personal goal -sound mutually exclusive to you? They did to me, until I finally decided that I would make them work together, no matter what. I’m getting closer every single day.
P.S.S.In your heart-of-hearts, what’s YOUR goal? No matter how odd, quirky, or out-of-the-ordinary, I’d love to hear it if you’re willing to share it with me!
