I am a bit obsessed with the weather. I don’t much care what’s it is doing, but I do like to watch it happen.
Is there a storm coming? You’ll find me out on the porch or pressed up against a window waiting and watching.
There’s snow in the forecast? I am almost beside myself with joy. So distracted, watching and waiting.
I love the motorhome we live in because it has a gigantic windshield – it’s one big curved piece of glass. There is so much potential looking out that windshield!
In our world of climate-controlled comfort, there’s something magical about watching the weather turn. Being in it. Feeling it get hotter, colder, windier, rainier.
Only twice has the weather come far too close for comfort – once when I was sleeping outside in a tent during a very violent lightening storm and once last year when my husband outran a tornado on a highway in Kansas.
But other weather? Give me the right gear and stick me out in it. I’m one happy camper!
How about you? Is there a particular kind of weather you adore? It’s okay if it’s the return of heat and humidity or if it’s worshiping the white stuff that falls from the sky in winter.
