There’s one surefire way for me to find clarity and that’s to go hiking. I get out in the forest among the trees and rocks and flowers. I suck wind as I trudge up the mountain trails. There’s not much calculated thinking happening when I’m forced to concentrate on getting air into and out of my lungs with enough regularity that I don’t pass out.
Despite all the huffing and puffing, something amazing happens during or shortly after a stout hike: I have an epiphany. I understand something I didn’t understand before. Or I see a connection I’ve never seen. In short, I find clarity I didn’t even know I needed.
It happens almost without fail.
Interestingly, I’m finding that something similar happens for my clients when we talk. And the curious thing I’ve discovered is it doesn’t matter if happens in person or on the phone.
I let my client talk for about 10 minutes so he or she can unload, gripe about feeling stuck or even admit to feeling some fear.
Then, I start asking questions based on what I’ve heard.
And in the course of that hour, with their talking and my simply asking questions, an amazing thing happens. My client has an epiphany. They understand something in a new way. Or make a connection they hadn’t seen. In short, they find clarity they didn’t even know they were looking for.
Before we hang up, I help them organize their thoughts into action. They feel relief. Back in control. Able to get going!
It’s one of the things I love most about working with people.
I was also tickled to get my survey results back. It was awesome to slice and dice your responses and see some trends emerge.
Specifically, you want me to talk more about:
- Organization (this includes your thoughts, hopes and your space)
- Self-limiting beliefs
- Productivity
- Productivity apps
- Simplifying
- Psychology related to entrepreneurship
So, in addition to my reaching out to some of you about your individual answers, I’ll be keeping my focus on these important topics in the coming months.
Make Some Room,
Angie

P.P.S. From my client Chris: “Angie has an uncanny ability to discern what it most important to advancing your value proposition. She paid close attention and asked incisive questions that helped me break through my delusions about the work I am doing. In short, Angie quickly diagnosed the underlying issues and helped me find the courage (and the time!) to make some meaningful changes. And held me accountable so I could start doing the work that truly feeds my soul.”
