For this week’s worth of 31 Days of Organizing, we’re going to go inside…inside our heads. Let’s get introspective!
There’s a beautiful illustration I love (though I don’t know the original source of it nor the illustrator’s name). It’s called Mind full or Mindful? and I feel it speaks to each and every one of us in the modern world.
After all, we’re expected to be “on” 24/7/365. To be available, connected, and plugged in. Our minds are filled with thoughts that fly around like the snow flakes in a wildly shaken snow globe, driving us to distraction.
Part of why I wrote my Make Some Room Manifesto was to ask people to slow down. The Manifesto even shares 20 easy ways to do that.
What I’d like to request of you this week is for you to slow down. Make some room to just breathe. Don’t eat lunch at your desk. Quit working at 5pm. Go for a walk. Sit and stare out at the trees. Find a bird feeder and watch the birdies do their birdie thing.
These small moments of slowing down…of making room…they change you. Your mind settled down. Your blood pressure drops. Your heart-rate and breathing slow.
Give yourself the gift of making some room to a bit of nothing this week.
Make Some Room,
Angie
P.S. Not sure how to do this? Fearful you’ll miss out on something? Scared of what happens when you get quiet? I can help.
