The only time you have is NOW.
You can regret the past or remember the past, but you can only live now.
You can worry about the future or make plans for the future, but the only time you actually live is now.
Right now my kitten Hobbes is snuggled up in my lap (he’s a whole year old now!). He’s fast asleep and doing his little purr. We’re both warm and happy.
There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.
How about you? What’s happening right now?
How are you feeling? Happy? Worried? Present? Distracted?
Here’s what I’ve learned after years of being a worrywort, stressing about the future and regretting some of the past:
- Close your eyes.
- Take a deep breath. (Go ahead and do it. I’ll wait.)
- Now, do it three more times.
Feel better? You betcha!
With practice, this will bring you to a more centered, present state of mind.
