It’s epidemic. A disaster almost.
Your calendar is having a crisis.
So are your To Do lists, your “I should” list, and your “I wish list.”
One is packed full, one has more things on it than a roll of toilet paper has sheets, and one is (quite frankly) totally ignored.
I’m sure you can figure out which is which.
This year is half over and I’m wondering what you’ve accomplished from each of these lists? From your calendar?
Do you feel good about it?
Last week, I started working with a new client. She was definitely in crisis. Right away, I could see her time management and To Do lists resembled a Ping Pong tournament. Her line of thinking went from this to that and over there. One To Do led to an “I wish” which then created a dreaded “I should.” Her calendar had directives, but only if she remembered to check it.
Thankfully, we’ll be fixing all that in the coming months.
Contrast that with a long-term client who, after our quarterly check up, wrote to me and said, “Angie, it was lovely to see you (and warm, and energy-generating, and inspiring, and many other adjectives that one doesn’t usually hear used in the workplace)! Thanks so much for being who you are, and for all you have done to help me think about, evaluate and refine my approach to work and life. Everything works so much better – and I am so much more aware and appreciative of that – because I’ve had the opportunity to be in that reflective space with you.”
She’s more than doubled her revenues. Her schedule is well-balanced, she delegates and systematizes like a champ. Priorities are key for her – and they include her kids, plenty of vacation time, and riding her horse competitively.
Definitely not someone suffering from a calendar or To Do list in crisis.
A wise person told me yesterday that I often don’t do a good job of really sharing the changes I can make in business owner’s life.
I’m telling you today I can rock your world.
I will shake free, poke holes in, and question everything you’re doing. I will get to the bottom of what’s keeping you stuck and scared and mired in a life filled with stuff you “should” be doing (rather than what and how you actually want to be doing it).
Let’s end your crisis mode with some kick-ass organizing, systematizing, and delegating strategies. It’s time for action, baby!
Sincerely,
Angie
