Some of my clients are HARD CORE. We had set up time for a nature-based Wayfinding session this morning. It was pretty chilly and very rainy, but we met and had a powerful session. There was one lighting and thunder grumble nearby…but just one. Otherwise, we would have headed for the car! Safety first!
I love the change in attitude and atmosphere that nature-based coaching provides.
My friend Jayne Fought (owner of Island Ford Adventures and one of the smart people holding an umbrella behind my husband and me in this photo) told me about book called “The Comfort Crisis: Embrace Discomfort To Reclaim Your Wild, Happy, Healthy Self ” that I need to read. In a nutshell, the book says that we need to get uncomfortable to really KNOW ourselves. I strongly believe this to be true for me and I make a regular practice of it.
The photo I’m sharing was a day we got absolutely DRENCHED in a rainstorm. My phone got wet and died. My rain jacket DID NOT stand up to the wetness (dang it – I NEED an umbrella). Suffice to say: it was a miserable time.
AND it builds character, as my dad would say. I can endure a lot and come out smiling later.
Life isn’t meant to be a climate controlled stroll from bed, to shower, to breakfast. Then car to office to lunch. And then car to home to dinner to bed. All at a comfortable +/- 70 degrees.
Gentle reader – when WAS the last time you felt your edge?
Go get uncomfortable for awhile…I DARE YOU.
Warmly,
Angie
