He asked me if I offered corporate workshops and training. I said, “Actually, no. It’s kind of dangerous to put me in a corporate environment to coach and train people because I end of appalled at the level of abuse and lack of caring that [most/a lot/some] people endure day after day, year after year in the corporate system. I end up asking them why they don’t quit.”
So, having a company pay me to help their people survive the conditions that aren’t going to change…it just doesn’t work for my brain and how I believe we can move through the world AND it really doesn’t work for the company when I’m encouraging their people to leave awful situations. [Ooops}
That’s why I gravitate towards Founders, entrepreneurs, business owners, and the like. They seem more able to make fast decisions, to identify what isn’t working and make changes*, and are just more agile. [*Mostly. Don’t come at me for this generalization.]
This particular conversation happened over lunch with some folks who attended a Forest Bathing experience with me on Saturday. They were asking if I made money offering these experiences [“Some”] but I explained the bulk of my revenue comes from Executive Life Coaching, which can and does include nature-based coaching (i.e. getting out into nature, out of your head, and into your body and six senses).
I love the grit, obstinance, brains, courage, and tenacity of Founders, entrepreneurs, business owners. It’s the world I’ve been steeping in since 2003.
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Warmly,
Angie
