Has your discontent become your new normal?
I’m studying materials for an assessment that I’m getting certified to use.
My brain keeps lighting UP when I read the chapter material called “it’s not just about coming alive, it’s about coming home.”
See, for YEARS I was discontented in work. Thirty or forty percent of it was right on; the rest was really OFF. I bumped along that was for a long time. Discontented, unsatisfied, unfilled…but letting it just happen.
Until I couldn’t ignore it anymore.
I see this a LOT in the clients who work with me. Life and work are 30 – 40% right on. The rest seems definitely not right, but they don’t know how to change it.
Thankfully, through a good bit of trial and error, but some outstanding coaching and training, I’ve learned the process of making change. AND – it doesn’t have to be the nuclear option I took.
It’s almost 100% an inside job at first. Introspection. Examination. Toleration. Obligation.
The quality of attention that you pay to your life without changing anything holds all the clues you need.
Stop. Look. Listen. Breathe. Get curious.
From there…EVERYTHING starts to change for the better, one teeny tiny step, one teeny tiny realization at a time.
Warmly,
Angie
