For the last few days, I’ve been hacking, coughing, and wheezing. Throw in a fever and aches and pains and I have to admit – dang it!
I’ve got the flu.
I honestly thought it was just a head cold at first. I tried to keep a regular schedule and then **pow** it’s like I got run over by a steam roller and now I’m on day three, languishing in bed with my sickness.
Nelson’s been avoiding much contact – he’s so busy he can’t see straight and keeps saying, “Please don’t get me sick!”
At least the dogs are here to snuggle with me.
In between sleeping and coughing, I get bored and surf the internet, read some articles, and watch some stuff on Hulu.
As I browsed the news compilation site AllTop, an article called The Super Stress Era caught my eye.
I figured they were talking about the “era” we are in now. It’s been a stressful few years for all of us.
Nope – they’re calling this coming year – 2013 – the Super Stress Era. In summary, they’re saying, “While life has always been filled with stressors big and small, these are mounting and multiplying: We’re entering the era of super stress. And as stress gets more widely recognized as a serious medical and cost issue, governments, employers and brands will ramp up efforts to prevent and reduce it.”
The source was JWT’s annual trends report for 2013.
It’s interesting to me to read this and realize that the six new clients I’ve gotten in the last month all said they want to reduce their stress.
This “drinking from a fire hose” of obligations, information, and never-ending To Do lists isn’t working anymore.
And these busy business owners heard from my other clients that I can show them how to make real and lasting changes for the better. Changes like: more free time, better clarity, reducing email overwhelm, having more peaceful office spaces, and even more freedom. All of this equals way, way less stress. Really!
If you’re interested in avoiding being walloped by the Super Stress Era (and I bet you are) THIS is the solution.
Sincerely,
Angie
P.S. If you know of a business owner (or two!) who also wants to avoid the Super Stress Era, definitely forward this email to them.
