I posted recently about the weekend my hubs and I spent relaxing on a houseboat for his birthday. My theme was “stop and soften.”
My friend Frank L Schwartz Jr read my post and commented, “I think most of us confuse activity for industry… believing the Insta-Hustle-Accumulate-Showoff lifestyle to be the desired state, we hurriedly talk about how “busy” we are, all the whole chasing things that will have no lasting value in the end.”
Then he shares how he stopped taking meetings on Mondays and Fridays and became a whole lot happier and more productive (industrious) for it.
To me, that’s real wealth – the inner kind where you settle into the peace of knowing you have enough and, most importantly, you are enough.
Will the ones who hustle get rich? Maybe.
Will the ones who don’t hustle be poor? Maybe.
But if you have all the money in the world, but don’t have inner peace…does it matter? Is it worth it?
