Each of these photos represents a last camp.
On my French Broad trip (13 days, 140 miles) our last camp was on Day 12.
On our Grand Canyon trip (16 days, 225 miles) our last camp was Day 15.
And on The Great Florida Traverse trip (23 days, -/+340 miles) our last camp was on Day 22.
There’s a reluctance to leave those camps and begin that final day.
You’ve bonded with your group. You’re used to being dirty and stinky together. You’ve done and seen some EPIC stuff. There’s a rhythm that’s been established with gear, food, sleeping, and playing.
It’s truly bittersweet for it to end.
And, it’s hard to explain the momentous feelings of that last day at camp unless you’ve been on an expedition-type trip.
I’m SO excited about the women who’ve signed up for August’s Salmon River Slowdown.
Over five nights and six days, they’ll experience the transformation that happens with a group of people on a river trip. We’ll see SO MUCH. We’ll experience EPIC things together. We’ll support each other, laugh together, get serious together, maybe shed a few tears, and tell a few truths. We’ll be sober in every sense of the word. AND, there will be belly laughs, laugh-snorting, and times where we’re laughing and crying at the same time.
Ya’ll, August 26th can’t get here soon enough.
We’ve got six spots left.
IS ONE OF THEM YOURS???
I sure hope so.
You’re not going to want to miss this adventure or who you’ll BE on that last day.
Warmly,
Angie
PS: We’re holding a Q&A session on Saturday, February 10th? On the fence? Got questions? Join us for a fun conversation about the magic of river trips and this Salmon River Slowdown in particular!
