“This move fast and break things model established by Mark Zuckerberg over the past decade, does not work anymore. Period.”
Julia Boorstin, author of “When Women Lead” dropped this wisdom on listeners of the Chief Podcast “The New Rules of Business” which I was listening to between client sessions in the woods this morning,
And frankly, I sighed with relief.
Because moving fast isn’t serving anyone.
There’s a better way to LEAD in business and in life:
- slowing down
- BE-ing more thoughtful
- pulling threads of inquiry and curiosity
- examining the bigger picture
- asking deeper/better questions
- pausing to deeply listen (to yourself and to others)
This is the kind of slow, deep work with I do with my CEO and Founder clients.
Recently, on the way out of the woods, my CEO client spoke out a framework that will support herself and her team as they plan for growth in the next three years.
I think she spoke out effortlessly and clearly because she was relaxed, had been in inquiry part of the morning as we walked, and she sat in silence among the trees for a full 20 minutes.
This kind of coaching is unusual. It WORKS because the focus is on improving your creative thinking, executive functioning, and your overall well-being rather than the “how fast, how far, how much” kind of goal setting you might typically encounter.
Ready to improve your leadership, your business, and your life while walking outside among the trees?
How does slowing down serve you in business and in life?
Warmly,
Angie
