Take care of your Self.
(This doesn’t mean “don’t care for others”)
Take care of Others.
(This doesn’t mean “don’t care for Yourself”)
Turn off the TV. Walk away from the computer. Put down the tablet. Leave the phone on the table.
Wander outside.
Breathe.
Breathe again.
Stretch.
Slip off your shoes.
Wiggle your toes. Say HI to them and send thanks.
Notice the air…even the tiniest breeze can caress your skin.
What do you hear? Cars? Dogs? Birds? Crunching leaves? Let the music of this place sing its song!
What’s that smell? Dirt, decaying leaves, grass, trees? Get up close and give it a good sniff.
What’s there to taste? Your morning coffee or tea? Maybe something in the air around you?
What might you notice if you sat down? Give it 10 minutes. Sitting. Noticing. Observing.
Nothing to do. Just be.
Breathe.
Breathe again.
When it feels right, stand and stretch big.
Consider that everything you are noticing is noticing you, too.
Give a little gesture of thanks if that feels good to you.
Carry on with your day, friends. You’ve successfully cared for yourself and Others, too.
Warmly,
Angie
