I spent Thanksgiving weekend with my family at a state park in South Carolina. We rented a cabin (it was more like a duplex), went skeet shooting, and learned a bit of archery (I hit the target once – yay me!).
At one point, my sister’s boyfriend and I were sitting in the living room talking. He was sharing how much traveling he was having to do this year and confessed that my sister had to ban him from bringing home any more “free toiletries” from hotels. He laughed and said, “We probably have enough for both of us to use for six months!”
That, of course, got me thinking about how we all have too much stuff of one kind or another.
So, for the weekend, I present you with a list of stuff you probably have too much of. Feel free to start purging immediately!
- Towels and sheets
- Glasses and mugs
- Travel-sized hotel freebies
- Bluerays, DVDs, and VHS tapes (yes, a number of people still have lots and lots of them)
- Canned food (have you actually checked those expiration dates recently?)
- Books (sad to say, but it’s true)
- Office supplies (really? five boxes of #2 pencils?)
- Clothes and shoes
- Knick-knacks (or as my husband calls them: stuff to dust)
- Storage containers
By just tackling one category at a time, you can make a huge difference in the amount of clutter in your life.
Hop to it!
Make Some Room,
Angie
