“Not toward an answer—but towards [Nature]. Toward movement. We didn’t need solutions. We needed to remember. Who we are, where we belong, and what truly matters when the rest falls away.” ~ Scott Stillman
There is something for me about being as close to nature as possible.
When I’m home, the windows are open (except in July + August – have you experienced Carolinas summer humidity? Lordt)
When my hubby and I travel, our teardrop trailer provides enough protection from the elements, but the windows are almost always open in it, too.
Multi-day rafting, kayaking, and backpacking trips find me enjoying my little green Nemo tent. It’s practically bomb-proof in providing protection from the wind, rain, sleet, snow, and sun, but hearing the rain patter or pound or hearing the wind howl or hearing the sleet ping…I want to experience it ALL.
And sometimes, like on our 16 day Grand Canyon rafting adventure, we rolled our sleeping bags out on the ground and sleep under the stars.
When was the last time you sat out in the rain and just got wet rather rushing inside the nearest climate controlled box?
Heck, when was the last time you sat out anywhere in Nature and just…SAT? No devices, no scrolling, no talking, just watching, listening, smelling, feeling, even tasting the air?
Join me for exactly this – I have oodles of opportunities for any budget. And trust me, if you’re feeling wound up about the state of the world right now, spending time in Nature – unplugged – is THE THING that will help you.
