Last weekend, my hubby and I paddled back into a creek in a more remote part of South Carolina. Bend after bend, we went deeper in, and farther away from the noisy, busy Highway 9 bridge put in.
We paddled and chatted, spotting eagles and herons and kingfishers along the way.
At some point, both of us stopped paddling and just drifted.
And I swear in that moment of pausing, it laid down over like me weighted quilt: the QUIET.
No traffic, no humans, no planes, screens, NO THINGS.
It was, as I’ve described before, the kind of quiet you can feel in your bones.
Have you heard that kind of quiet before? Recently?
My body told me I hadn’t heard it in too long.
That’s the thing about going OUT.
You get a new perspective: An Outside Perspective (TM).
(Yes, I’ve trademarked that phrase because it means EVERYTHING to me)
In my world, I’m learning just how much SENSORY input affects me (both positively and negatively).
I’m actively working to filter out chatty humans and roaring cars and blaring screens in order to let in the sights, sounds, tastes, smells, and textures of NATURE.
If you’re interested, I offer ways for YOU to begin experiencing more of these NATURAL perspectives outside, too.
- Join me for a 3-hour group Forest Therapy experience.
- Join me for a private 1:1 3-hour Outside Perspective experience (part nature-based coaching/part forest therapy experience)
- Join me for full immersion: FIVE days of rafting on the Rogue River in Oregon for a wildHER adventure (Sept 14 – 20, 2025)
Ready for your own experience of quiet? Nature? Sense drenching?
DM me and let’s set something up.
Warmly,
Angie
