Walking out of the forest last week with a client after an exceptional session of nature-based coaching (forest therapy, forest bathing, executive coaching…call it whatever you want).
As we rounded a corner, her hat snagged on a briar.
She stopped, stepped backward, gently untangled it, and started to walk forward.
“STOP!” I said.
“What just happened there?” I asked.
She said, “My hat got snagged.”
And then? I asked.
“I unsnagged it.” she replied.
YES! This is how life is. We get snagged up sometimes.
Our instructions are to stop, maybe back up a second, and get ourselves untangled.
Life can really be that simple.
We don’t need to curse the briars, our hats, or ourselves.
We don’t need to argue or wish things were different.
We just get pause, step back, untangle, and move forward.
Today’s lesson is brought to you by the trees and the sunshine and briar bushes.
Warmly,
Angie
