Do you know what I mean when I say “E-clutter?”
I bet you do!
And I bet you’re starting to drown in it.
So, what are the symptoms of E-clutter?
Take a look at your desktop – the one on your computer. If it is littered with icons, shortcuts, saved files and more, that’s E-clutter.
Take a look at your “My Documents” folder, or the default file folder on your Mac. Are there neatly organized files with very specific names? NO? That’s E-clutter, too.
Now, go to your Inbox. Is it FULL? Bursting full? If y0u have more than 30 emails in your Inbox, that’s E-Clutter.
And finally, how many different places do you save documents? Two separate hard drives? A dizzying array of diskettes, CD’s or DVD’s? A bunch of thumb (USB) drives? Yep, you guessed it…all E-Clutter.
Take some time during the holidays to get a handle on your E-Clutter.
Put like with like.
And here’s a tip that I’m giving you free of charge: your physical files should match your email files should match your e-files. Seriously. This helps you be consistent. You’ll know immediately where to look for something once you determine what it is (paper? email? electronic document?).
Got it? Get cracking! 🙂

What a great idea to have your physical files match up with your e-files. I never thought about that. Definitely a good consistent thing to do!
