With a nod to one of my favorite blogs of all time and to the author, Leo Babauta, let’s talk about the art of simplicity!
Leo defines the Four Laws of Simplicity as:
1. Collect – bring it all together (as best as you can)
2. Choose – what is essential?
3. Eliminate – all that is NOT essential
4. Organize – be neat and tidy so that you can move forward without distraction
These four simple laws can help you with:
- projects
- filing
- boxes of…what’s in those boxes again?
- storage units, basements, attics, etc.
- drawers (not those kind of drawers – unless you do have a big collection)
- supply cabinets and the proliferation of office supplies
- books
- systems & processes
- phone messages
- ideas
Brilliantly simple – in part because the laws ask you to stop and be discerning in your choices.
